The award-winning Swiss artist, Dante, has sought to express his artistic talents in many different ways since the formation of his company, Design by Dante. Whatever the project, Dante has endeavoured to combine his unique understanding of working with metal and the desires and wishes of his customers to produce an array of items, from bespoke works of art to furniture and interior design. This has resulted in his gaining a reputation for unrivalled quality and outstanding service. Naturally, the ultimate form of expression available to any artist is to create a completely new work of art, and this is multiplied when the individual piece forms part of a series. For Dante, this is manifest in the creation of a limited edition series of sculptures depicting iconic sports cars, the first two models of which are now complete.
Having worked on one of the surviving aluminium bodied Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing sports cars, it was only natural for Dante to channel his knowledge and enthusiasm for this elegant sports car into a sculpture. This was achieved with stunning results and has now been joined by the legendary Aston Martin DB5. The latter maintains a unique position among classic car enthusiasts as both a vehicle and a cinematic icon, thanks to the appearance of a gadget laden version of the car in the 1964 film Goldfinger, starring Sean Connery. Both of these bespoke works of art are limited to a maximum of ten pieces worldwide, and mounted on stylish piano black display plinths complete with LED light systems. The fusion of art and classic design makes them an ideal addition to any car or private art collection.

Design by Dante have been extremely active in relation to the promotion of the art work, with the premiere of the sculptures having taken place annually at the Top Marques Monaco shows in 2009 and 2010, where the likes of Prince Albert II of Monaco and Sir Roger Moore have revealed the stunning works to the media. Events in London and in Cannes during the world famous film festival, as well as prestigious exhibitions in Italy and Switzerland, have been the scene of similar launches. Indeed, regular updates on the events at which Design by Dante are present is a feature of the website and the asspciated Facebook pages.
Naturally, as the series of sculptures progresses so other iconic sports cars will be added to the fold, and it can be stated that each new model will hold a special place within the world of art and automobiles alike. Yet, the artist's desire to create knows no bounds, and continues to be fired by the overwhelming response to the unique style of his sculptures. Subsequently, other series are already being devised. Thus, the combination of classic design and Dante's extraordinary ability will continue to provide limited edition pieces which offer elegance and emotion to the discerning collector.
